Aftermarket reinforcement for E85 softtop?

I am thinking of getting some metal panels and additional sound proofing fitted to my E85's softtop. Mainly to increase chassis stiffness and save some space in the boot by not being able to fold it down when the sun comes out.

Safe space in the boot? Are you sure you talking about e85?

It seemed like a good idea to start this thread when I got back late last night. Erm... :? :D

I am quite used to having fun poked at some of my more "out there" ideas.... but you could at least have the good grace to be funny when doing so :D

I know. Pretty shocking! Actually think yours is not a bad idea, just a bit of a weird one after a couple of shandies!

Seemed to have captured Machine monkey's imagination though... maybe he can knock something up for Project Marmite? :D

I have actually been thinking of making a hard top to be fair. I am hopping to use coupe bits n bobs so I have the worlds only coupe / roadster and be in both exclusive clubs!!

I am sure with his skills it will end up better than my attempt. I am distracted with the Android project at the moment, but I still want to give this a try at some point!

OT Slightly

I was amazed when my son and I went motor-racing the other day at how much kit we could actually fit in the boot - and still leave room for the hood!! :o
