Hiya
Been a busy weekend and my parking distance control had turned up on Friday. There are a few threads knocking around regarding this and for me it was well worth a 40 quid punt. My Zed of course did not have Pcd and looking at a OEM retro was looking expensive so I found the solution looking on the forum. I was fine without it but as my other car had Pcd it was becoming confusing now and again and resulted in some sudden stops in the Zed as I had forgot I did not have any!
Anyway the process is real simple as there is a few thread regarding this and bumper removal I will not go into to detail:
- Remove rear bumper – I found jacking the car up was the route for me
- Wire install, I wired in into the right had light , the reversing wire is number 5 that you need to tap into.
- Fit lcd unit / hide all wires etc
Overall really pleased with the result and I feel the lcd does not looking out of place , after spending some time deciding whether to included, I am glad I did. If you’re looking for a low cost solution its one to consider – Is it as good as OEM well no , about 70% there, for previous experience as both roadsters had pcd.
My system was a group on thing, but quite easy to get system for less than 50 quid I paid 40 quid for this one RAC one apparently was 250 quid! Before …..
classic group on waffle
Anyway so pic's before and after of Lcd and a little Vid of it in action , hope you enjoy , I know not for the purists out there but am real pleased with it
