Hi Folks,
OK, to cut a long story short a friend of mine who runs a local garage has a mechanic who works for him who's gone and bought a preface lift zed with some fairly light front end damage. Their trying to fix it up on the cheap using used parts etc where they can so he can have it ready for the summer as a surprise for his wife's 30th.
The only bits he's now short of are the headlights. He's been on ebay etc and been gob smacked at the price of these secondhand and then a couple of days ago I made matters worse for him. I was down at the garage the other day and saw this car for the first time and pointed out (after seeing the light switch) that it had Xenons! Turns out he'd actually only been looking at standard lights and I doubled his pain when I pointed out that zed lights also come with two internal colour options, which he hadn't spotted.
I told him Xenons, even pre-facelift are like rocking horse poo and cost the earth when they do come up and he might be better getting some of the aftermarket headlights out there as a cheaper option if he wasn't too bothered.
He's been on to me this lunchtime and apparently everywhere he's looked don't do aftermarket lights for xenon and right hand drive etc.
Is this true or is he not looking hard enough? Has anyone actually sucessfully put aftermarket headlights on a preface lift car with Xenons?
At this rate I'm not taking my car down to the garage for a while, might come back with no headlights!!!!
thanks
