Aftermarket Headlight upgrade.

I am thinking of upgrading my Headlights (E85 Z4 2006 ) to something with Angel eyes etc . Has any one on here done this and what are your thoughts, and which did you use . There are some great looking sets on the German Ebay for RHD cars .
 
If you have halogens there's a few on eBay. If you have Xenons you'd have to take a DIY approach
 
I think OP is referring to ones with AEs already fitted, SONAR etc.

Two options:
1. Buy an aftermarket set
2. Cut yours or a donor pair and install your own LED rings
 
What i am trying to do do is improve my Halogens, and the Angel Eyes are a bonus . Quite a few on the net .....have emailed a German supplier to confirm RHD .
 
Sonar/Excite (same lamps) may look good, BUT the actual headlight performance is terrible, much worse than the std candles..

Just looked at some Excite ............so unless i set them up with HIDs ......might be a way out to improve them . Well looks like i will be doing some home work on this and no rush. .

They were just as bad with a HID kit in, the beam pattern and throw is crap..

cant you just buy the bits from a scrappy for the z4m / facelift setup and have the stock Xenons ?? i find the stock light in my z4m absolutely terrific! including all my newer vehicles that have come and gone, its got some of the best headlights.
 
Ok ....thats not an idea then ....Any other Brand or make ............been reading old Forum posts on Halogen to Xenon and that seems rather a lot of work and money .
 
I picked mine up from these guys here. I honestly haven’t wired up the angel eyes though as it’s not important to me just the quality of beams and nice clear lens from the cloudy stock ones I had. If you dont want to do a rewire and keep what style of bulbs you have just order accordingly.
