Aftermarket angel eyes (HIDS) - fitted

Bought myself some aftermarket angel eyes with auto ajusters - £330 from fleabay.
I have OEM xenons but recenlty cut and shut them. While doing this i wrecked the plastic lense by trying to buff and they got too hot - not good :oops:

So decided to try these angels out. Also bought a HID kit from hids-direct.
Even with the OEM xenon wiring etc, it's a case of plug and play as they have self leveling motors built in. Wired the AE to the upper 'sidelight', fitted the slim hid's... chucked the bumper back on and hey presto!

Fitting time - 1hr 40 mins, including a brew :thumbsup:

Will have to re adjust base light settings - but the autos dance beautifuly every time! :)
 
Are the oem lights not salvageable?

Think you need to adjust your bumper slightly where it meets the bonnet, gap looks to small.
 
Yea ill be sorting the bumper out, and yea i'll need anew lense and a ballast then will either keep as spares or for when i sell or just sell the oems.
 
Do you know what the white plugs are for,they pull off and expose a hole,can't see what it's for,the white plugs a eyehole shape,I've the same xcite lamps and didn't fit bids as they warned the ballasts would feck up the CFL halos.did you have any issue
 
I don't get the side light at the top, if I ever got a set I don't think I'd bother with it.

The lamps do look tons better.
 
Agreed Steve,

I deleted the eyebrows and connected the halos and sidelight led to the sidelight circuit and also to the interior light dimmer so they light when I remotely open/close car when approaching/leaving.

The white plugs are weather covers over breather holes that vent the light unit to atmosphere. There is a tiny round circle of black breathable membrane stuck over the hole under the cover. The white cover has a small rectangular 'bump' on one side. This should be at the bottom when it is pushed over the breather hole so that water cannot get in.
