aftermarket amp advice

Hi has anyone found an aftermarket amp that fits next to the battery where the oem one goes? most seem much bigger, and if not, where are people putting their amps ?

You could do what BMW did with facelift cars, bolt it to the forward boot bulkhead, under the carpet. A lot less likely to be damaged by accidental water ingress as well.

I hope you're aware that the top hi-fi/carver system is digital and the amp cannot be directly replaced with a typical aftermarket amp.

Do you mean inside the boot?

Also I'm not replacing an amp - just trying to upgrade the existing basic system, I'm thinking using the speaker line inputs will work, is that not the case ?

Hi I fitted some aftermarket subs powered by a 2 channel amp

they work really well, I added a dension unit also - (which made a whistling feedback noise ..)

next im adding a line filter to get rid of the whistling, probably going to a 4 channel amp and adding door speakers

I know - where to stop

looking back - 2 subs on a mdf board and an amp is perfect and it was £300 fitted , the dension adds very little and i wouldnt bother again
 
Did you go for a high level input?
If so, where did you take the feed from?

I've got carver, but looking at adding a boot sub as I like me bass, so wanna run a 2 chan amp as an additional unit to the carver, and my initial thoughts are to take the high level input

sure it was a kenwood something or other - there was a choice of two - I willl get you the model numbers
 
Do you have any pictures of it all? Especially the amp next to the battery.

I just build a sub box in a prism shape (12" sub box didn't fit 100% vertically) and then a false wooden board under the carpet, then screwed the amp through the carpet to it
