AFE Intake - Sheared Bolt

I purchased, second hand, an AFE cold air intake, with a stated week's worth of use. Unfortunately the MAF mounting plate has part of the previous owner's bolt left in, sheared off. this wasn't mentioned, unfortunately, i bought from belguim so rocking up and demanding a refund isn't an option. :)

Anyway.

It's the MAF mount on the pipe that attaches the intake to the engine, a sort of composite material, with brass inserts to screw into. I'm presuming drilling the brass insert out and bonding a replacement in is not a massive job.

Bit of a long shot.... I'm based near Peterborough, anyone any recommendations for a small engineers who may undertake this type of work?

Many thanks

James

Can you not just carefully drill the bit of broken bolt / fixing, it could be easier then trying to rebond a replacement lug on the unit. Or drill a small hole the way through and use an easy out to remove the offending piece.

there's a place round the corner from where i work, neil brown engineering, who build dtm race engines (overkill i know!) so i'll drop by there tomorrow sometime with the offending part, see what they say. i think i could fix it myself, even drill all the way through and put a nut on the back, but it'd be nice to sort it properly.

bought it from a thread on here, with hindsight you can see his bodge in the pic he uploaded, but there was no mention of it in his description, all he said was it'd had a week's use....after one ham-fisted installation! his only contribution to the forum was the thread re selling this, so perhaps it's just one of those lessons learned... :headbang:

thanks for everybodies' suggestions.. :)
