Anyone fitted a diffrent aerial on there zed? If so which ones. Im wondering if a shark fin would look ok on the side haha :?

i cant recall who but a shark fin as been fitted, personally i like it but its had mixed reviews

I'm no expert but it seems the there are 2 categories: whippies and stubbies. The general push on this forum seems to be towards 'stubbies'. I've still got a whippy and am holding out  (hope Im not talking nonsense, although reading it back it sounds like it  )

Think one of American friends fitted a fin many years ago.

Just stick with a stubby though.

Yeah im thinking stubby. A friend years ago had one (on a saxo haha) that was like a blade. Cant seam to find one anywhere online.

Tons of them on eBay Rorybeanbutler - search for BMW CAR AERIAL STUBBY. You could also go with a Peugeot one, as a number of people on the forum have - I have one. Other options are BMW (as mentioned) or mangowalk. Someone on here once fitted a "nipple" but that didn't catch on :)

I have a Peugeot stubby on mine. Looks fine, but radio reception is very poor. My other half has the BMW http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Genuine-Sports-Rod-Short-Phone-Radio-Aerial-Antenna-83mm-65202296761-/171649699871?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item27f71e901f one on her Coupe and it works perfectly. Its a little chunkier than the stubby I have though. I'm going to order one myself.

Any ideas if this would fit or is it just going to ruin my reception.

I replaced the standard aerial with this one a few months ago, but the paint has worn away/become discoloured and the fit to the car was not the neatest:

Today a nice new Peugeot aerial arrived in the post and it looks much better:
