Advice please

I've got a DSP head unit and the amp that goes with it. I'm planning to put them up for sale of the buy and sell section of this group........ but I have no idea how much to sell them for.. Any advice?

I believe the head unit is the same on all cars. They are just programmed differently. So it's not worth much at all I'd keep it just in case.

The amp can be had for £300-£400 new. So one over a decade old. I would think anywhere between £30-£150 is fair. Depends on the demand I guess. Which isn't high unless someone has one die on them or waterlogged boot. So it's worth current DSP owners to re-locate them somewhere where water won't get to them or seal them somehow.

Why are you selling them? What did you upgrade?

I have the DSP carver system and it's been a pain to upgrade it without getting rid of the amp like you have done but then I'm told all the speakers are very sensitive to amps.

I love the sound system, but I want modern features which the OEM lacks.

Like you I was happy with the sound quality, but it was lacking decent features (bluetooth, usb etc). I bought a flip out touchscreen to replace it, and had a nightmare trying to get it installed. Harness didn't work, took it to a shop, and they couldn't get it to work either. Said they could do it but it would be a complete re-fit ££££££££. I have no experience with car audio, so I was out of my element when I decided to attempt it myself. It took me a while to figure out where everything went. But I ended up wiring the speakers straight to the head unit. And hooked the subs up to an amp. Sound system is quality now. I did blow the door tweeters though, because I neglected to install a crossover. (limited experience, I'll get some new once and rectify it soon) However the sound quality doesn't seemed to have suffered :)

I also ripped out the ashtray and the cigarette lighter, and replaced them with a cell-phone holder and a switch which flicks between the front and rear cameras ;)
