Advice on remote roof closure please- IS POSSIBLE !!

Hi

I have an E85 Roadster 2006

I would like a product that offers the one touch open/close facility with remote open/close via fob as does the Gaptech plus however I would like the remote closure function to include fold / unfold of the door mirrors.

Any pointers please ?

Unfortunately the Z mirrors can't be coded / made to fold on close / lock or other actions on your part except pressing the button. The car does not have the control module required

Thanks Bing you're a gent and a scholar. I am disappointed but I suppose it was more for the fun of it than a necessity. I wonder if there is an auto electrical Guru who might take it on and see if he can somehow connect via a signal from the central locking system ?
Will chase it up and update .

I'm sorely tempted to try and get some mirror control modules from an E46 and see if they can be made to work...

I did find a module from a German site a while ago to auto fold mirrors on lock / unlock but it was about £80 plus shipping so didn't bother.

Cant be done via programming software though as I have tried.

Can you send me any info on the module that you found ? I would buy it. I'm going to speak to the guy that does mods for me and see if he is aware of anything that can be done, he is very keen on a challenge.

I'll have to do a few searches as it was totally randomly I came across it when searching to see if I could do it via programing.

I'll have a look but try searching for bmw mod companies based in Germany and maybe send one an email and they might be able to point you in the right direction but I can confirm there is such a unit for an E85 Z4.

I'll let you know what i find.

Me finding that website again is a long shot as it was within a very long thread on some other site when I was looking into programming but doing a quick search, I just came across this....

Billy you're a star, sounds like it will do the job. I am going to talk to mod man and see if he can do it for me as I want it to work in conjunction with the remote roof closure/open. I will be a very happy man if I can get that feature added :yeah:

Okay that's odd and they're advertising it as a specific e85 product.

I've emailed them to make sure and my mod man speaks German and i sent him the links, so hopefully will update.

I am sure i read the same as i have been wanting this for ages!

Even my wifes fiesta folds its mirrors on locking!!
