Advice needed - service and mot time

Hi Guys sorry such a boring subject which I know has been gone over before but just need some good advice on what is best option before booking car in for some work as I'm not too technical!

2004 3.0
Mileage since last oil service (12 months ago) 2.5k now 77989 miles
Dash reads next Inspection 13225 (Inspection 1) car had a Inspection 2 at 61922 but was 3 years ago

Last mot had advisory
Steering system slight free play detected at steering wheel
Rear brake pipe slightly corroded

Also I feel the car is not handling as it should seems a bit vague on steering and seems to move around more than it should - but I'm no expert!

What should I get checked out or possibly replaced for a car of this age/mileage? Thanks in advance.

You need to find a garage who isn't going to rip you off, but will take a good look at the car, or find someone who can look at your car, and provide some recommendations.

I'd replace both rear brake pipes (mine also need doing ASAP) and have them undersealed to prevent corrosion - I'd have the whole car undersealed to be honest, although there is a lot of plastic underneath, so this would have to come off.

As for the handling, see what tyres you have fitted - runflats aren't great - regular tyres don't tramline so much.

Check the pressures.

Have the alignment checked, after the MOT - the latter may reveal play in the suspension bushes.

Going on the above without seeing the full history, you don't need a service for another 12 months, and even then probably just another oil service unless you are going to be doing more than 2.5k this year.

Were you planning on just getting the issues addressed?

Yes definitely wanted to get issues addressed or at least checked out but was concerned that I needed some sort of servicing too despite the low mileage.

The car has full service history and is running on normal tyres as I took off run flats last year.

Service - oil change every 2 years (irrespective of service intervals) you are one year out, thats if you intend keeping the servicing up to date to BMW standards :)
Corrosion on the brake pipes - seems to be a comment now on a lot of advisories - I remove my wheels twice a year to clean and seal the inner rims with a good wax. Brake pipe check and a clean with fine wire wool and then rub over with a cloth soaked in WD40 - 10 years on and no problems :)
As for the steering may well be bushes and needs checking and which may be made worse by RFTs, wrong pressures, worn tyres etc - all need checking to eliminate and fix the cause :)
