Advice about luggage frame, please.

Roof down, the car's rattle-free. Roof up, it ain't.

It sounds as if the roof is compressing the luggage frame when it's on it, but letting it loose when it's not.

Are there classic points to tighten on the frame to stop this, please?

What happens if you drop windows a few millimetres?
Biggest rattler is the plastic wedge on rear window where it goes into deck.
Try black tape either side of the wedge and stick some felt pads on the horizontal of the T piece. Use some of the furry bits of velcro or those furniture or hifi pads from Wilco stores.
I then use silicon spray around all rubbers once a month, seems to do the trick.

Sometimes broken brackets on roof try make noise, also sun visors tap the trim, again felt pads do the trick.

Will try windows.
Already wrapped spike.
Will spray silicon.

Dropping windows the black guide strip between the side and quarter window butts up against a sort of nut.
Poke finger in you can feel it.
I think that taps against roof.

The independent garage found the cause. A crack across one of the plastic hinges. £35 each side. Should be done in a fortnight.

Now I know what it is, it's nowhere near as noisy. :)
