My insurance is due in a couple of weeks so been getting various quotes. Admiral have come out on top.
Couldn't get back in online to take the policy out so luckly I PDF'd the quote so phoned them up. Guy I spoke to confirmed the details such as Reg (Personal Plate) and car i.e. Z4///M. Asked about modifications to which I replied none. Paid my £373 and happy days.
Go on-line tonight to download my documents. Big problem, car is listed as Z4 2.5si. Those who know me will understand why, but I got rid of that car 12 months ago and also why do Admiral run two databases or multiple tables with different cars.
I called them immediately and explained the situation although I never mentioned I owned the other car in question (I see no reason to). So far so good then she asks about modifications, again I state none but somehow we get onto Options being modifications. So I list Sat Nav, Logic 7 HiFi and Bluetooth to which she replies we don't see those as modifications. I then state heated seats and PDC, she says these are treated as mods and will require another £32.
At this point I'm starting to get pissed off and firmly but calmly point out they have cocked up and I'm not paying a penny more than what they quoted. I also suggested they listen to the recording of my conversation when I took the policy out as I was not asked about options.
So I'm put on hold for a minute or so and then she comes back and says due to it being their cock up there will be no extra charge.
So at the end of I'm not out of pocket, I would have got a refund rather than pay extra to them, but I cannot believe they have information that is 12 months out of date and can pull up two different vehicles from one registration number at any one time. Makes me wonder which car the original price was actually for the 2.5si or the ///M even though it stated ///M 3.2 on the quote.
