Adding CD Muli Changer

I've just noticed on the original spec of the Z I have just bought it says its Multi Changer ready.

Just how ready is this exactly does anyone know?

I understand the actual Multi Changer goes in the cubby hole between the seats at the rear, so is the wiring right up to that point from the factory?

Any help much appreciated, its just a thought at this point as the good lady does like her Music CD's 8)
 
Hi, yep if you look behind the carpet on the bulkhead in the boot you will find the two little connectors in the loom that connect to the cd Multi changer. I used the connectors to connect to a media bridge which gives me bluetooth and audio streaming.

Much appreciated, how did you sort out the bluetooth and audio streaming exactly, its another option I should consider I guess.
 
i bought an audiovox (was Dice) media bridge off ebay. It comes with a loom extension that connects to the multi changer connectors and then i housed it it the centre console, absolute doddle to do. I then use a drive app on my phone with a sat nav app and spotify. its great the app auto launches when it connects to the car.

Cheers might be worth looking into if she gets sick of changing Cd's :-)
 
they are crap. waste of time. they are prone to failure then you then have the issue of 6 cd's stuck in them.

buy a decent modern head unit instead.

That might stop her playing CD's and get herself in the 20th century at least :lol:
 
I just installed a GROM Audio system today. It plugs into the CD Changer wiring, and is controlled by the usual radio controls. I went for the bluetooth version so I can either play off an iPod in the centre console, or stream from my phone. Very happy.
 
Well got this installed yesterday, not as bad as the BMW instructions would say it is but still a pain in the arse to do.

Lots of the things they said to remove didn't need removing so it could have been worse, and it works fine. :thumbsup:

She's a happy bunny.
