To be pedantic it’s not a wing it’s a spoiler…that device disrupts aerodynamic lift ..it does not create downforce…
Absolutely correct, and yes, it is pedantic

Sadly the ‘yoof’ element is disconnected from the laws of physics, aerodynamics and thermodynamics…Absolutely correct, and yes, it is pedantic![]()
Depends on whether you're referring to the seond law of thermodynamics or the f%^k-up known as FB?Let alone Entropy![]()
Mine was all from doing an HND in thermodynamics many, many years ago as part of my job.Hey, I have a hard enough time getting much beyond the basics of Entropy.
Entalpy is for people who were better chemistry students than I ever was (damn molar equations gave me enoughof a headache!)![]()

I always liked the terms 'superheat', 'sub-cooling' and 'latent heat'. They just sound silly.
Enough! you three. Let's get back to the 'spoiler'. Bugger, I've just joined in.One of the best things about science in general is that the more silly the term, the more likely to is to be accepted![]()
To be further pedantic….wings only ever induce drag…spoilers can reduce drag..so it’s oxymoronic to title ‘ I added a wing added bhp’…needs to say ‘added wing , reduced bhp’ or ‘ added spoiler..I MAY have added BHP ‘Enough! you three. Let's get back to the 'spoiler'. Bugger, I've just joined in.
Enough you, in reality the E89 has the aerodynamic qualities of a plate going face on into the wind.To be further pedantic….wings only ever induce drag…spoilers can reduce drag..so it’s oxymoronic to title ‘ I added a wing added bhp’…needs to say ‘added wing , reduced bhp’ or ‘ added spoiler..I MAY have added BHP ‘
Actually that’s factually incorrect ..a plate going into the wind has a drag coefficient of around 1 or worse…almost any car can manage a lot better ..I’d imagine an E86 would be around 0.35 or better ..fwiwEnough you, in reality the E89 has the aerodynamic qualities of a plate going face on into the wind.
Yeah that's because I'm scared to drive mine if roads are wet lol I like to keep it clean and dry lolI've not seen your car around. The only local E86 I know of is a black 3.0Si that lives on Pinchbeck Road in town and only comes out on nice days (so rarely, then).
Yep and yep. You're building a Ferrari aren't you?
Is it finished yet?
I'm off so I could definitely be there it's in my diary so I'll see you hereMe too and now booked in!
Come on Steviejay01 , let's see your beauty there![]()
