Adaptive Throttling

Hi All,

The SMG gear changing on my Zed has been very slow & lazy. - 3.0i (2003). I have reset the adaptive throttle as described by other members in previous posts and WOW! what a difference. This is more like it !

Small problem - The gearbox goes back to the slow/lazy gear changes after the car is turned off. :thumbsdown:

I'm having to reset the adaptive throttle every time I turn on the car.

This surely can't be right? :?

Any one shed some light on this please?

How do you reset the adaptive throttling?
Did you go to the dealer and ensure you have the latest SMG software loaded + hydraulic fluid is topped up?

Hi,

Turn ignition off, then turn to the on position (without turning the engine over).

Wait about 10 seconds, then turn off and wait a futher 15 seconds, then turn straight to engine start / start the car. That's it!

This method is posted in several places on the forum.

With respect to the 'fluid - this was checked and was full............

The annoying part is that the reset only lasts while the car is on. It has to be done all over again every time you start it - unless I'm missing something !

The only part I don't understand is the SMG software update ???

What's all this about ?
