adaptive suspension front strut fixed

hi,

couple of weeks ago I had to remove front tires and realized that the front right strut was leaking oil to a highly worrying extent

jumped on the internet for options:
- OEM new ~800 euros :o
- used (found one in US) ~ 340 euros w/ shipping :(
- rebuilt (ebay) 315 euros :)

the last option gave me the idea to find a local shop specialized for rebuilding struts and I got lucky, all links were pointing towards two such shops and after two calls picked one

they rebuilt the strut in 2 hours for 220 euros + 1 year guarantee  - the car feels different now (I'm glad to acknowledge), no issues when switching sport mode

I hope this helps others too with the face when learning about the price of new OEM adaptive struts :?

have a great day :driving:

had left side strut fixed this morning
it was in a better shape, much less oil leakage
the final sum went under 200€ altogether w/ removal and all

Sadly for most forum members, although happily for you, I suspect that labour charges in Hungary are less than in the UK. :)

yeah, I guess so

though there are only 2 shops specialising for fixing leaking struts, especially adaptive ones and they are above the Hungarian average for this reason

shipping would be around 40-50€ from UK and back, it might make sense
