Pour acid over their tiny penises.

Bit like the model whose ex bf organised an attack on - she does a lot of documentaries on c4 now.

The sad thing is that honour killings and acid attacks happen over here too, as part of my CPD this year we had an input on this from Halo a charity who helps survivors and possible victims. It was a very thought provoking session, including the bit about girls dying each year as they are married off very young. There was the case study of an 8 year old who died from severe internal injuries. http://www.haloproject.org.uk/

And that's happening in this country???? Are these people being put in prison?? Or do they just go into hiding ???

The little girl was in Afghanistan. As for the rest, yes it is happening here and people have been prosecuted - if evidence against them can be found. Even worse, women have set themselves alight (mostly in other countries) to escape their fates. All quite horrific really, and sadly it is happening here as well. Here is an extract from the Halo website :
"National statistics show that South Asian females under the age of 24 are 2 to 3 times more likely to commit suicide than their Caucasian counterparts. In the Cleveland area there have been a number of female suicides normally by fire and also murders of South Asian women and children as they have brought “shame” or “dishonour” to the family by not conforming to what the family believes is the correct code of behaviour"
And here's an article on 'contract marriages', which really makes you wonder about how much women are valued in some societies. http://english.astroawani.com/news/show/17-year-old-girl-forced-to-marry-six-times-30704

let em slice and dice it each other up - its part of their religion or culture we are always told...

I'm with you on this one ranski.
Yet I hate to see such things happen to the young girls. But as this is a Muslim tribal based tradition. I'm not allowed to get involved nor say anything as that would make me an Islamaphobe and an intolerant white guy. So until the good Muslim folks decide to do something about the bad Muslim folks. I'll just shrug my shoulders in disbelief.

Okay .... I tried not to comment on this one but hey ho.
Firstly, no offence intended to anyone.

I believe that everyone has a right to make a comment as long as it is made with knowledge of the core matter I don't think anyone would have issue on that basis.

This practise has NOTHING TO DO WITH ISLAM.. Islam Prohibits any kind of force in marriage and should there be any kind of coercion in any way however subtle, Islamically the marriage would not be lawful.

This practise has its roots in the Indo Pak sub continent where it has been practised for centuries. It transcends religion and is rooted in the pursuit of retaining land ownership within a family. You could be a Bangladeshi, Indian, Pakistani, Christian, Hindu, Muslim, Sikh makes no difference.

With regards the use of acid I imagine they are trying to assert control by leaving the uncooperative victim so mutilated that they will have little chance of finding a life partner.
Sadly the suicide by fire trend is all the obvious things like threats, emotional blackmail, hopelessness and in my humble opinion the lack of an education available in these countries.

It is sickening but I would like to clarify it is nothing to do with ISLAM.

I don't care where they are from or what religion they are, I would gladly put a bullet in the people who perpetrate these acts. and feel good about it too, the f**king bastards. Honour killings my ass.

I never said Islam (as a non practicing white guy it's practically forbidden) but as it's now been mentioned...

The problem Z4MO is that these incidents are taking place in Muslim countries by what it appears to be practicing Muslims. So unfortunately the religion will get tarnished by such actions, I'm sure you can see this aswell. More so by the fact we cannot turn on the TV these days without seeing some Muslim chap either burning down a church, blowing up a building, throwing acid over a child's face or killing female students, all in the name of Allah, the list goes on...

Everyone has an opinion and mine is that ALL religions are a form of control that divides communities and are the catalyst for war

Thanks for the clarification Z4MO. I for one want to be properly informed if I have the facts wrong. So you shouldn't be shy about saying I (or anybody else) have it wrong. It's how one learns. I suppose I need to do a little more research. As most media outlets attribute such things to religion/Middle Eastern culture.

As an American I suffer the same fate. I have British Sky TV here in Germany. I see quite a bit of lumping of ALL Americans into the dumb inbred redneck category. I sometimes wonder why I have holidayed in Britain so many times & left behind so much of my money. It's not fair, But that's just the way it is.

And who exactly is doing all this lumping?

Quite a few TV personalities and of course the over all tone in the news media is one of a fair amount of finger wagging at the USA. I get it that a few celebs might do it in jest for a laugh. Yet. It's plain to see and hear when they are being serious. It goes on quite a bit from Andy Parson's & a little less so from Frankie Boyle (I like his biting wit though) when he was on mock the week. (which I enjoy watching) As well as a fair amount of the guests on "have I got a bit more news for you". Stephan Fry lets out a USA Freudian slip now and again on QI. Yet I'm a fan of him and the show. But just before I hear a poke at the USA. I will usually hear "the American's" as opposed to the American government which would separate the foolish actions of a government run amok to the common folk on the street.

I guess that I'm just more aware of it just as Z4MO is aware of generalizations about his religion. So I understand Z4MO's frustration with what I said. I try and qualify a statement (though I sometimes fail) by saying the Radical Islamist's not the Muslim's, The British government not the British people's, So on and so forth.

I hardly think that's a fair view, these women are born into their families, they didn't choose the culture which treats them so awfully and when they refuse to marry some dirty scum they get acid threw in their faces
In some cases if they fall inlove with someone outside their faith then their family kill them for dishonoring them.

I hate all religions and all cultures, I live by what I think is morally just and not what anyone's culture might impose.

What I have noticed in the news is most of the organised sexual abuse of underage girls is currently by Muslim men

I put up with endless stereotypes about Germans, but at the end of the day it doesn't worry me that much. Also, to be fair, the government is elected by its people...

Raise awareness and give women courage to come forward so justice can be served, educate schoolchildren to help balance views their parents and culture might instill.
have the legal system be as harsh as possible on the guilty

a textbook answer...But that's my point, how does a non Muslim, western country influence such changes?
