I wanted to know if anyone else out there has removed or worked on the accelerator pedal on their cars? I have this annoying tapping sound whenever I press on the pedal which is from a very small gap between the back of the pedal and the 'rod' that travels into the module that is attached to the firewall. Everytime I put my foot on the pedal it sounds like I am tapping with my foot, but it's coming from the gap behind. So, I want to separate the rod from the pedal and put a bit of felt or foam to take up the gap. Does it just pull out? Please see pic below:
