Acceleration question 28i

I'd like to ask about the acceleration on my 28i in Sport mode. When I accelerate hard the car accelerates great and at a certain point it feels like it is stalling for a split second before then accelerating hard again. Is this normal and would a remap give a smoother constant acceleration?

Thanks,
Steve.

Should be nice and linier. Whole bunch of things can cause what you described. Fueling, coil pack, throttle position, poor air flow. Assume it does it in every gear? Some time on a rolling road could help sort it and indeed release a few more horses. But that depends on what the actual cause of the hesitation is.

That doesn’t sound normal, the n20 twin scroll turbo engine has a design that minimises lag from low rpm, it should start boosting & keep going with no flat spots until high in the rev range.

I may well be wrong here.....is it a manual or auto?and are you manually changing gears! cos' if you red line it, it will cough and splutter as the engine is starved of fuel to stop damage until you change gear and again!

When you say it seems to stall a bit..

Does it do it in each gear?

What rpm is it reading when this happens?

The car accelerates really good and changes gear ok, it just seems like when it's at a certain high speed it stalls slightly like its lagging and then I get another boost of power and its OK. General acceleration and gear changes are absolutely fine it's just when i floor the accelerator without giving it cha nce to speed up gradually.

Maybe it's just me after driving Diesels for the last 10 years?

Steve.
If you don't ask you never get to know anything :)

Maybe it's just me, I've only had the car a week and haven't been too far. I've give it a good test at the weekend on a wide open quiet road

Everything else is perfect.
