The easy answer? ......simple, don't insure the other half :) . We have a deal- I don't need to drive her Golf and she' doesn't need to drive the Z, happy days especially as she's a kerb grinding specialist.

I was quoted around £3k to add the gf to the insurance. Perfect excuse to say no.
:? No way.

Are you sure you didn't just say that to her as the excuse :poke: :)

Edit: unless she has 9 points or is 18?

...She didn't curb the alloys, didn't rev above 2.5k, didn't park it anywhere and didn't drive through any puddles *phew*...
That's what she told you...

...what she meant to add to that was 'before the end of our road... then I went on a real hoon, got some air over a couple of hump-back bridges, kept bouncing off the rev limiter and scaring old ladies, small children and a few sheep... oh and there were a couple of speed cameras that flashed but I'm sure they didn't have any film in them...'

Interrogate the Intravee journey log to see what she got up to. 8)

What a lucky guy I am I have a wife who is a good driver and has a full motorcycle licence. She loves spirited driving AND has a deep and profound understanding of defensive parking. . .

How many of you have been in a motorcycle crash on a 1000cc motorcycle as a pillion whilst your wife was piloting!? We'd only had the bike a week and this was her second familiarity run - she always maintains she would have made it around the bend if I hadn't been shouting for her to brake - front end tucked under and into a brick wall we went. . .there's a fine line between confidence and fear - you decide which caused the off! She's still a brilliant pillion and fearless (unlike some eh - and yes ok - we might have got round the bend????!!!! but we were going quite a pace at the time on an unfamiliar road). Hey ho, took us three weeks to complete the front end rebuild - and she even helped me with that!)

So whilst I love my Zed, so does my wife and she is as capable as many on this forum. . . .like I say - I am a lucky man!

PS - This does not apply to all the women (or men) I know - some I wouldn't allow anywhere near my Zed!

:driving:

She's 23, no points but no experience beyond a 1.2 Clio. She wouldn't dare drive it anyway, I've offered her to try it in an empty car park and she refused! :)

Oh you're sweet to offer her to drive it. If it were me I'd definitely take you up on it. I guess sometimes someone might not want to risk damaging your pride and joy.

My gf wants a go in the M she's 23 and has no understanding of the physics involved, scares me to death sometimes in the 1.6 mini convertible. Luckily it would cost a grand to add her to the policy and being this age insurers don't allow either of us to drive other cars. So the M is safe for now :driving:

Did you brief her?

- if In doubt, słów down & pull over, stopping if necessary

- STAY AWAY FROM KERBS

glad every thing turned out fine , i couldnt help wondering tho how many of the first to second shifts were clunk free, couldnt put myself through that much stress

My wife is a good driver,I encourage her to take the Zed to work as it doesn't get driven much. She has a 25 min drive down the A2/M2 to Chatham.Chance to blow out the cobwebs, but she prefers her car

It's happening to me! The gf is taking the Z4 out for the whole day tomorrow! She's not the most confident or best of drivers! Really worried!

Breathe!

Must learn to. Chill!
