ABS Pressure sensor

What's one of those? I need to replace according to my Indy and BMW quoted £800 for the part. Any thoughts/anyone had to have repaired/replaced?

my dealer just replaced two and a rear spring for £772 and that included the investigation charge.

part no for mine was: 34521164458 @ 84.50 +VAT each + 154 +VAT to fit...

Yep, I had one of these fail too! Obviously a common problem. My Indy initially quoted £800 too! Ended up £85 plus labour.

Perhaps, but I can't imagine the brake travel sensor to be £800.

Is this part number 2 on the attached link - DSC pressure sensor?:

Shows as about £85 for the part. Doesn't look too hard to replace - maybe hydraulics need bleading after fitment but £800....

no - dealer: 84.50 +VAT each + 154 +VAT to fit..

thats for 2...

so total for 2 fitted by main dealer: £387.60

Ah okay... found out what it is.
Works in conjunction with the wheel speed sensors, yaw (rotational rate) sensors, steering angle sensors, and lateral acceleration sensors to determine if to active ABS, DSC/DTC, and to calculate the force for EBD.

DSC pressure sensor

The DSC pressure sensor(s) provides the ABS/DSC control module an analog
voltage signal in proportion to brake pressure in the master cylinder.

The DSC MK 20 and MK 60 systems use two switches installed at the brake
master cylinder.

The Bosch DSC III 5.7 system uses one switch installed at the DSC hydraulic unit.

Notice any difference with the new DISA? Mine is intermittent currently.

Not really if I'm honest - was making a terrible rattle so that's really the only difference I've picked up on.
