ABS Module Replacement 2008 E85 2.0

Hi Gents (and ladies),

Need some help if possible.

:!: I've got the dreaded three lights on my dashboard, meaning there's a fault with my ABS module. I put the fault code reader in and it has confirmed this to be the case.

I don't suppose )before I go off and pay £££ for a new module) anybody has a spare that they would be willing to donate?

I thought it worth a try before I go off and give a German car parts specialist all of my hard earnt cash!

P.S I've seen reconditioned ones on ebay but have heard that they are hit and miss as to whether they are good for use. Thoughts on this? Any advice would also be appreciated.

P.S P.S I know the fault doesn't affect the driving but I may be looking to sell in the near future. On that note has anybody got any advice on the best time of the year to sell. I may be wrong but I'm assuming that summer is normally the time you will get most from a sale.

Hi
Just a thought, I know you have put a code reader on that confirmed that it is the ABS unit, but I had similar warning lights confirming ABS failure but Fault Codes determined it to be no more than the brake pressure sensor malfunction.

Good Luck

How do you confirm for sure it's the unit and not just the sensors, which I believe are prone to failure?

Use a circuit tester on the sensor. And check for damage or split in the ring or heavy corrosion.

OP says he has had the codes read. The pressure sensors are a very specific code.

That's the answer I was hoping for! (Sorry for hijacking thread a little)

I have the same problem this week.
3 lights on and my mechanic confirmed abs unit at fault.
Sent it off to ECU testing in Derby today.
Hopefully shouldn't take too long to get back.
