ABS Light

Hi,

I’ve encountered my ABS, Brake and Traction Control light have come on all at the same time. The car still drives great.


After having it scanned they are certain it’s the ABS Pump that needs replacing.

Just wondering if anyone has had this issue and how much I’d be looking at paying out?

May be just the ABS,sensors,around £10 each and easy fix

The codes for the different elements are all different, so if its been read and the outcome is a pump, then that's likely the case. You can get them rebuilt for cheaper than a new unit from BMW, and arguably to a better standard too.

Around £200 from ecu testing with lifetime warranty. It’s just the brushes sticking on the motor.

I’ve taken it to an approved BMW to have it scanned, and thankfully it was just the rear drivers side wheel sensor. Sorted at £50. It’s amazing how other garages try to rip you off!! :x

That's very reasonable indeed. They can be sometimes. Glad it's sorted.

So the garage that scanned the codes and were certain it was the pump were wrong? The pump codes are quite specific so they must be fairly inept.

Be interesting to know what the actual codes were.
