? About E85 M Valve Adjustment

For those who are doing their own valve adjustments - I have a question. How are you turning the crankshaft? Unlike E46 M - it seems almost impossible to do it from the top of the engine.

It looks to me like you have to drop the splash shield and turn the crank from the bottom. I searched around - but all the valve adjustment DIYs seem to be for E46 M.

Take off the radiator cover-several plastic screws, and two torx screws (T30 I think)
undo two Torx screws-one either side of the fan at the top-long silver things with a very coarse thread.
Prise out plastic expanding rivet-top right hand side as you look at the car-look for a flat head with no indentations.
Unclip plug from the left and release the clipped on box on the right (not sure what it is but it's supported on the fan shroud)
Slide up fan and place somewhere you won't stand on it!
Put your 32mm socket in the crank pulley and spin to your hearts content. You may need a small extension to clear the front slam panel/fan support.

The only thing I'd watch out for are the rocker cover bolts. They appear to be made of chocolate.
