V6 TT had 2 & would happily have a 3rd , love the sound & torque of the 3.2 V6 engine , great tourers but handling in the bends a bit wooly by Z comparison
Good question as I don't know what I'd replace it with in terms of a great all rounder, fun, fast, economical, well built etc...
If we're talking similar budget to what we spent...
Before I bought my z I was torn between 2 cars the sensible choice was an e90 style 3 series coupe 2.5l or the slightly more off the wall 3.2v6 quattro audi a3, spent 6 months getting nowhere in the decision (probably because what I really wanted was a 3.0 e90 coupe but they are like rocking horse s**t) I'd never really considered a 2 seater convertible as a car for me.....
Was my mates fault suggesting taking a couple of weeks over the summer for an epic Euro trip that made me go for the Z I'd admired them for years but just never thought I'd actually get one so the kick up the arse made me go for it......
Now I've driven a proper roadster I think I always want one but if it wasn't a z then dunno... Mx5 probably love the look of the SL but not how they drive. Maybe a porker but too unreliable For me there's nothing as good......
So Colin after all my long winded waffling your questions just reminded me how good the Z is! Cheers mate, might just bob out for a drive
Honestly I don't know. I could have end up buying a BMW 3 serie coupe, or just a random Peugeot/Renault, but the idea now feels really strange.
Before buying a Z4 coupe, I wasn't so much into cars because I used to think that I could never afford a "sport" car, plus quite a unusual one.
And when I think about it again today, I just can't find any equivalent in terms of performance and style. I just love it, and it costed me less than a new Pug that would be long time forgotten by now!
