Just a short post by way of introduction :) .

I'm a great BMW fan having owned several over the last 17 years. These have mainly been 3 series from 316 saloons through 330 Touring to M3 Convertible. I've also had a 630 Coupe. In addition I've owned a BMW Mini Cooper and Cooper S and currently have a Mini One and Mini First on the drive.

I have another two cars in the garage, one of which is a 08/58 Jaguar XK60 convertible which will be handed back to the dealer in September as its MGFV will be well in excess of its trade value then. Which leads me onto my reason for joining the forum. I've been looking into its replacement. My only requirements are that the car should be suitable for two people and their golf equipment and that it should be "interesting". So the Z4 is high on my list, as is a Mini John Cooper Works (great fun but do I really want three Minis????).

I'm waiting to arrange a test drive of a Z4 :driving: (my dealer is about to register one as a demonstrator).

Yes, the price does add up and the deals available are not as good as on Beemers so there the gap between a 23 and a well specced JCW is not as large as it may seem. However, its easy to keep adding to the cost of the Z4 with the 30, 35, M sports, extended leather, nav etc as considerations.

I was thrown the keys to a JCW a few weeks ago on a sunny Sunday afternoon and was blown away with the drive. Its good that you say the Z4 is fun too :thumbsup: .
 
Thanks for the welcomes :thumbsup: . Hopefully the test drive will be this week but as it will be a September purchase I'm in no great rush.
 
welcome.... i looked a jcw a few years ago - and i also found them very pricey for what you get more then a Golf GTI. Also the Z looks more expensive then the mini :lol:
 
Test drive of a 23 arranged for Friday morning :driving: :) . I'm really hoping that I'll like it as it is becoming more and more appealing by the day. I'm already deliberating over colour and spec :headbang: .
