I have got a few stubborn marks on my wheels that no amount of washing will get out,

I recently got a clay mitt would that be alright to use? would a clay mitt mark the wheels at all?

my wheels have a matte finish so I cant use a polish to get the marks out the last time I sealed them with Poorboys that helped
a little bit but not much

I think you'll be fine with clay. I've done that on two sets of mine. Just use soft cloths and water to wipe down if you're afraid of using anything stronger. As for the mark, not sure...

DO NOT USE CLAY ON MATT!!

It will turn it shiny...

I was a high end detailer for 15 years so i know what I'm on about :)

The issue with matt is that polish, clays cannot be used full stop, some wheel cleaners are the same. You are pretty stuck for solution tbh, thats why i hate matt painted anything - Looks great, pain in the ass to keep clean!

Can you post up some pics of the marks ?

I use paraffin quite a lot for marks on wheels but not sure what it would be like to use on a matt finish.

I didn't use the clay mitt just in case it frigged them up just lots of elbow grease with the car shampoo,
the marks were little bits of tarmac that had smeared it was a nightmare getting it off although the poor boys wheel
sealant helped getting the last of it off,

Sorry Mr Wilks no pics of the marks
