A question for our own OCD 'Detailer' 20Ducks..

Ducks,

Getting ready to order some Fuzion..

When I apply my wax I use a microfiber bonnet on my buffer. I normally use three just to apply my wax to avoid contamination buildup.

Should I be using microfiber bonnets to remove it also. I have been using terrycloth bonnets due to the fact that what ever bonnets I use, they load up rather fast when removing the wax.

I am thinking that I will need to go get a boat load of microfiber bonnets...

Still stuck up here in CT. Now until Aug... WITHOUT my Zed.... :headbang:

I would use 3" foam hand applicators and the Griot red pad on your PorterCable Griots I use very little product in the process. I like these for hand application: foam pads. Microfiber pads are good but they tend to soak up a lot of the product. Since you are using a pad to apply a non-abrading product use very light pressure. For the final wipe (I also use Zaino Z8) and a chenille microfiber cloth and very very little pressure. I would not use a MF towel to wipe off with as it will also remove product which you don't want.

I also put a quick spray of QD ( quick detailer ) on each cloth / MF to avoid a dry cloth scratching the paint

Yeah, that is what I meant by using the Zaino Z8. The final wipe should be a light buff only, very little force and, if possible, linear (front to rear) motions.
