hi guys, i just bought a 2005 Tornado Blue SMG Z4 3.0i SE with 50,000 in the clock, the previous 1st owner very graciously ticked all the option boxes when he ordered it :

Sequential manual transmission, multi functional steering wheel with flappy paddles, 108 alloys ( 255,s ) , rain sensors, xenons, wood trim, sat nav pro with voice input
bluetooth, cruise control, M sports suspension, M sport electric seats heated. to name a few :)

guys i would be grateful for your feedback, 25 years of driving manual, its extremely fun driving it like a formula 1 , the sports mode sends it ballistic

Very nice indeed! Lovely colour. I'd not have spec'd the wood dash, but it looks really good when you actually see it

It's a real shame they didn't offer that smg box on an M

Welcome along - Toledo Blue, very rare colour

Nice clean looking car, guess an "elderly" person bought it originally, hence the walnut dash?

I've heard some really good feedback on the SMG from two other forum members... Jimbo and jaxz4 both have SMGs too (amongst others)

thanks very much, i did own another z4, the facelift on a 2007 with the aluminium dash, i guess i wanted something alittle different, maybe i am getting old lol......and the smg well thats taking quite a while getting used to it.

Sweet ride. Loving the toys. That'll keep you entertained.

Be interested to hear how much you use the paddles in a month or so time. I've had them on a previous car and once the novelty wore off, I found I never used them. It may be different for others.

Welcome. Replace the wood with brushed aluminium or piano black trim  .

Welcome - lovely looking car! If you do want to swap the trim, you can have my brushed aluminium trim in exchange.

i have had the car for just over a month, and i tend to use the tiptronic more, its the natural stance for me after 25 years of driving a manual ( resting the elbow on the arm rest and holding the gear stick ) , the flappy paddles ... i think coz i am over 6 foot, my cant get my arms full stretch (how ever much adjustments to the seat ). which feels more natural when holding the wheel and paddle wiv both hands.

cheers for the comment, i have viewed and sat in many different z4s, either for sale or at shows, interiors with cream seats and piano black trim , red seats and piano black,
black seats and piano black, the alpina leather trim with its green and blue stitching, the z4 specials with its red piping around the trim....and so on , all with its own character and fantastic, and of course the most familiar alluminium trim which i have had before,.... this one i have now , i havent seen many with wood and together with the cars colour, i am happy :)
