A Kayak and the Z4

Hi, i'm thinking of buying a Kayak over the next few weeks, however i have one tiny little problem... i'm not sure how i am going to be able transport it around... this may sound like a very daft question but has anyone ever seen or heard of any console or mechanism that will allow you to attach a small Kayak to the Z4, thanks in advance
 
On a coupe, bet you can find roof racks. On the roadster, put it in the passenger seat???? :idunno:
 
Well - you can get racks that attach to the boot lid - but not sure if you would then be able to secure a kayak to it!
 
there has to be some sort of attachment for them, they are not that heavy, altough i would be a little be worried about lift off :( - hopefully something will pop up
 
Sounds like one might have to buy a pre-existing roof mount and modify its feet to clamp to the coupes roof gap ? Thanks BMW for not R&D'ing a rack systems for the Z4 coupe !!! :headbang:
 
i just make my own for my cars. not made one for the z4 yet but it's nearly at the top of the list and i can see ways of doing it for the soft top and hard top.
if your taking rough water play boat kayak then you may be able to get away with just using the ski racks.
if your talking calm water marathon Kayak like mine that's longer than the car you'll have to make something to fit it yourself unless someone has come accross one on the market that i havn't.
