A fine day in the life for repairs

My passenger door lock failed 4 months ago. 2 months ago the drivers door handle imtermittently failed to release (queue a number of embarrasing climb overs of the transmission tunnel).

A couple of days ago it totally gave up the ghost so thought "bugger it call the AA). Lo and behold the van pulled up 10 mins later, I went to demontrate the issue of not being able to get in and bam - both doors unlocked and opened fine. Feeling a bit of a fraud we parted ways.

The following day I went for a drive. Got back the the car and - bam - the door failed to catch the striker. The followed a 20 minute one hand holding the door, one hand doing the rest trip to the first garage I came across (fun).

Fearing a huuuge bill, I had a call today to say all of the cables had worked loose in both doors with the window cables impeding the door cables and vice versa). Long story short - the expectant £3-400 bill turned out to be 1 hours labour - result!!!

On a sad note - my car is now ready to be passed on to another enthusiast. At least she is now in a state whereby I wouldnt have to sell whule being locked in the car [emoji2]
