A Change Is Coming

Bill, it's all broken in for you......
That was actually my biggest concern that it was in fact broken in properly... :(
I can only hope that it was... :?
I will be taking deliver at 2:00 PM EST today so am taking the afternoon off for the event.... :yeah:

Just got home a little while ago and WOW... :yeah:

While I have driven the "M" on a few previous occasions but never for an extended period of time.
It is all I was expecting and more... :driving:
The big difference for me is the steering...
and the locking diff which was a mod I was considering if I had kept the SI.
There is about a 1/2 mile section of rural road I drive every day that is dead straight and a slight up grade. After crossing a railroad grade In the SI I could put pedal to medal in 2nd, then shift to third and run out of road before needing to shift to 4th. In the "M" I red lined 3rd and shifted to 4th but ran out of nerve to keep accelerating and was also running out of road.

Very Impressed...

Having previously red lined on most of my gears... I know what speed you were playing around with. :driving: It comes at you so effortlessly too, huh?

Enjoy your new ride Bill! And we'll forgive you if you don't post anything on the forum for several days. :D

Too be honest it accelerates so hard and fast it's scarey...

WLH, sounds like you made a great choice. What was it that made you choose one, I had you down as a cert to get an E89 after launch?

This is really tempting me to 'upgrade' ... goes off to find the nearest M roadster for a test drive

:driving: With time... you will acclimate to your new sensation of acceleration  Then, you may consider more power to fuel the addiction :o

Congrats WLH!

I am starting to feel like I am the only one left without an ///M ... I think I am suffering from ///M envy

The E89 with more weight and the lack of a rag top is just not for me. Also, I feel that the Z4 M Roadster and Coupe will keep their value ptetty well over a period of time. The Z3 M Roadster has done pretty well and it's even hard to fine one in the area where I live. About half of the members in our local ZSCCA group have Z3's and those that don't have Z3 M Roadsters are looking for one. They have no interest in the Z4 and I think we will see the same thing happen with the Z4. I think the 03 to 08 Z4's will have a loyal following for many years to come with a nice premium for the "M" models. It will be interesting to see how many members of our board move on to E89.

Also with used car prices currently depressed the Z4 M Roadster I purchased was at a fire sale prices. It had been sitting on the lot for over 4 months and with only 4,000 mile on the clock and 2 2/3 year factory warranty left plus the extended warranty until Dec of 2013 how could I go wrong.

Interesting, you could be right I suppose, a lot of the Z3 crowd in the UK have stayed loyal to the Z3 too.

Oh, sorry to do this to you but...

:worthless:

Wondermike, Ok...Ok... Don't have many yet as I had to go into work for a while today... :x
More tomorrow as my camera battery went dead too.. :(
