I think old Mercedes (C and E Class) are more embarrassing to own than old BMW (3 and 5 series).

Always wanted this since I was a kid...

Being a current owner if an E500 that's spent much of its life on a low loader I'd agree!

Esay question: late model (1992-1995) E34 520i (or 525i but no real added value there). Most value for money I have ever had and simply indestructable ...

Prelude VTI

Nice unchavved on AT at the moment, 60k miles 2200 quid.

Funnily i need a cheap run about, and was looking on auto trader and found some 118d's not far off that price.

Far too much choice with a budget of £3k!

I'd go for a Volvo 850 T-5. An estate if need be, and in that bright yellow R variant if it was in budget.

A Saab Viggen, always liked Saabs and a good unmolested Viggen is definitely on my shopping list.

Or a nice 1980's E28 5 series. I phoned up about this immaculate M535 a while back, how much do you reckon?
