A bit of light tinkering

A few jobs completed this weekend on Sunshinecoast's new car in preparation for our European road trip.
Hazing polished off the headlights.
Glovebox catch repaired and put back on.
Additional 12v and USB power socket fed from the fuse box.
Lastly, sound deadening added to the doors, nice 'thunk' noise now instead of a 'ting' when the doors are closed.
Roof motor to be moved next weekend by Duckviewlake, then see what else we can do to it.

The glove box catch was completely off and sitting in the glove box. It needed the assembly removing and the external outer catch bit 'screwing in'.
I used one of the screws you get with household light switches ( used to screw the fitting to the wall) that was the perfect length and diameter to go through hole and it held the catch back on fine from just one side. Just to add stability, I pushed a small nail from the other side till the point locked into the small hole on the sprung side and covered the hole flush with blutac to stop the nail moving.
Result is the glove box now has the proper catch you can use, the catch isn't sprung so needs to be pushed up when closing, but it closes ok and stays closed. It works fine. If a new catch suddenly appears then might swap them over, but it's much better than before.
