700bhp V8 touring car ride at Rockingham Motor Raceway

Treated my son to this for his 18th birthday last year, the date for the experience finally arrived last weekend.

He was just a passenger & afterwards said the Zed was very tame by comparison, especially as the guy was overtaking everything on the track & happily drifting it round most corners, money well spent even if over very quickly.

Anyone else been there - probably the last purpose built track we'll see in the UK

However, most of those I saw driving other toys were on a very short leash... so don't think I'll be booking anything for myself

A few years ago now I was invited by Ford to the launch of the Mondeo ST220 at Rockingham (I had an ST24 then adn was picked at random from customer lists). Very good day. Got to drive a few around the oval at a fast pace behinfd a lead out car (which we couldn't keep up with!!) On the day there was also a driving skills track and you got taken around the infeild track as a passenger with a race driver. That was a little interesting as the one that took me was a rally driver!! Lunch was include and a talk Q&A time with Johnny Herbert.

Good day out for free!!

Also when I had my MINI Cooper I went on a MINI only day there and got to drive my MINI around the track.
