£7,000 what shall I get

Hi All,

Business didn't go as well as previous years so the time has come to man up and get a mile eating, fuel sipping cruisemeister so I can get back out there and generate more business. The Z4 3.0 has gone as I needed the money to live. I now have £7,000 left to get a car.

I need to be sensible and get a car that is fuel efficient, looks "business like" and is good for camping kit.

So far my ideas are:

1. Seat Altea 1.9 TDI
2. Audi A6 Estate 1.9 TDI
3. VW Touran 1.9 TDI

All other ideas would be much appreciated.

+1 on the Audi. How about adding one or more of these diesels to the mix...

- BMW 118d SE
- Jaguar X-Type 2.2 D
- BMW 320D Touring
- Volvo S40 Diesel Sport
- Volvo V50 Sportswagon 2.0D SE
- VW Passat 2.0 Sport TDI 170
- Toyota Avensis 2.2 D-4D T180
- Ford Focus 1.8 TDCi Zetec
 
Thanks for the responses so far. Some good ideas in there. Now to find one of those cars with a good history and low mileage for under £7,000. Thanks again.
