6 speed manual trans hard to shift

Someone who have had trouble with shifting on the 6 speed manual transmissin. Specially from neutr. to first. clutch is okay I just wondered if this is a common trouble Because then I am sure there are a solution to this. You know when your in town waiting for green light and when it come you are not able to go. It is a nice way to get attention

Mine does this when not warmed up properly, has done for years. I always dip the clutch again and force it in, works every time for me. I removed the CDV many years ago, a good choice but made no difference to this small problem.

That infamous phrase, "They all do that" comes to mind. Though I always thought mine was fine. Always dip the clutch on startup too, if you don't already. :wink:

That always confused me, as mine was never notchy...until I had my clutch/flywheel replaced and obviously not aligned as well as the original :x

I'm on my 7th and 8th manual BMW and the quality of the boxes has varied considerably. I had one that was a bit vague and baggy, a couple that were notchy, some that were just fine (including my MC) and then there is my current 330i which is the most obstructive I've had so far.
