Anyone gone this route? Or have experience?

Been thinking the coupe for a while but slightly put off by just the manual or auto having driven both. Preferring my SMG.
I figured why not try something new? Always liked the 6 series and comes in SMG as well (very rare but they do exist!)

Anyone owned or moved from the Zed to a 6? Any insight, tips, etc. would be greatly received :)

Can't help with that generation, but I've got an F13 6 series (2014 640d) as a daily

I was put off the previous gen as I didn't like the interiors or exterior styling. Very very happy with my 6. 313bhp (remapped to 400) that gets roughly 45mpg on daily commutes and 55mpg on the motorway. Extremely comfortable and luxurious. Faster than a z4m in a straight line, but not at all engaging. Handling is good for what it is. Eibach springs are going on next weekend to reduce weight transfer.

As a daily (not a toy), it's perfect, wouldn't have anything else. They're not great as toys (even the v8's) due to the size and weight.

Hope that helps some :)

The old 6ers are like a football smeared with 5hit
The 3.0 are way underpowered for the cars bulk (& they're big Ved too)
The V8s sound amazing & pull like a train anywhere in the revrange but will empty your wallet so fast youl be dizzy

I had one 7/8 yrs back / 2005 68k 1 owner full bmw history car , spent £1500 in 4 months & when I asked my indy if that was likely to be it he said no., theyre a never ending moneypit of electronic & mechanical fail with every part mega expensive .
They were a roll out test of new tech like adaptive ride, adaptive xenons, hud, voice control etc etc , spec was mega but way too much to go wrong
Can only imagine with age they will be even worse now?
If you wanted the above summarised in one word. :D AVOID
