5min mod well worth it!

Ok Ok....

before...or perhaps during as I forgot the 'before'

and after

yes yes I know....laquer peel

Makes a real difference for very little effort as you say

I found some lacquer peel on mine recently, share your pain - at least you're not alone

Go further. Completely remove the turn indicator plastic and make it an emblem only.

I had the orange indicators as well. I carefully removed the emblem, removed the orange plastic, and glued the emblem to the indicator backing.

The result is removable, flush mounted side emblems which (in my opinions) look infinitely better. Not to mention it's 100% free.

Currently I'm working on making side vents (deleting the side emblem completely). With the 115 degree summers and the coming V8 swap, I need as much air moving out of the engine compartment.

It's a slow process but the end result will look really good and I have noticed a huge reduction in underhood temps with the side ports open. Once I have them shaped, I'll have them painted the factory blue to match the body.

In order not to hijack this thread: do you have a thread on these changes? Would be interested to see where this is going :-)

Would that not be illegal in the uk?

Mine are cut down clears but I completely messed them up so they have superglue all over them :(

It would be illegal to do the removal mod in the UK. Side repeaters are a legal requirement ( I think there are some exceptions, classics etc).

I had planned to make a thread regarding the vents when I had them all finished. I never thought to make one for the "repeater delete"/flush badge mod but I certainly could if people want to see how I did it.

I was not aware of that (UK) requirement, though that would certainly be an issue. When did that requirement come about? Do Z3s have side repeaters (I never noticed any on the Z3s)? Here in the US, side repeaters are not required.

edit:  Well I learned something new. I just looked at some pictures of Z3s and they certainly do have side repeaters. I guess because they are always the clear repeater and so small, they don't stand out.
