My dad is starting to think of upgrading his Dodge to a BMW. 
Right now he's thinking a 5 series (2000-2003) or an X5 (not sure on years). Car is used for real estate and driving the family around. There arent any twisties or open roads here in Oklahoma City.
A few Questions:
540i vs. 530i is there a real advantage to the V8? OR is it just performance?
What kinda fuel economy can we expect?
What is servicing like? We have a really good indy repair shop that is generally pretty cheap.
What about reliability? The Z4 is the first BMW we've owned and its been fine for the 6 months Ive owned it.
Things to look for/watch out for?
X5 which engine is the best?
Fuel Economy?
Realiability?
