4 wheels inside a coupe?!

Morning all,

New-ish 2007 Z4 Coupe owner here. First, just wanted to say how useful all of the posts on this forum were in helping me buy my first zed, so thanks!

I'm looking at a set of 18" wheels with tyres on eBay, but they're collection only and I don't have access to another car. So, my question is will they all fit in the car if I go and pick them up? I've had the tape-measure out and it looks marginal (2 in the boot, 2 strapped in the passenger seat?) but I'm hoping someone here has tried it and can give my a definitive answer.

Thanks in advance,
S

Think you will struggle getting two full size in the boot, I carry a spare skinny in there which is fine but two full size is not going to fit, boot lid probably not going to shut. Rear parcel shelf would have to be in upper position so roof has to be up which then presents a problem of loading two full size wheels on the passenger seat. Have to try and load them with the roof down before trying filling the boot, don't think they will fit width wise on the passenger seat.
If you update your User details to show your location on your posts you may find another member close by who could assist with the logistics.
Just noticed yours is a Coupe so some of what I wrote may not be applicable, was thinking E85 like mine.

someone has definitely managed it... i think it was 2 fronts in the front seat, one rear in the boot and then one across the middle, i think...

I’ve had 4 19” wheels in a coupe, 2 in the boot and 2 on the passenger seat, be mindful that the 2 on the seat restrict your view considerably though.

Thanks for the suggestions/replies, all.

Sounds like it's worth a try if they're local, but if not I'll probably play it safe and borrow another car for the day. I don't fancy driving 50+ miles to discover it's going to take two trips. Not at my current average of 27.2MPG anyway

Firstly welcome to the forum.

As others have said you should get 2 in the boot of a Coupe. I had two 18" rear tyres in the boot of mine.

But like you I wouldn't fancy driving far with 2 on the passenger seat!

Don't forget we'd like to see photos of your car.

Take the passenger seat out!
This.
Are the airbags not sensitive souls that throw a fault code even if you just touch the wiring?
If you disconnect the battery before disconnecting the seats (some say wait for 20 minutes), it should not trigger an airbag fault code. If it does, it’s easy to reset with a code reader when the seat is reinstalled.
