4 new tyres and tracking = WOW

had my car for a little while now and kept seeing people say how good the change etc is but i couldn't afford it at the time, now i could and wanted to get ready for the summer... and MOT lol

the difference is amazing, previously i had nearly bald runflats 225/40/18 on the front and winter run-flats 225/40/18 on the rear.. and the car always pulled to the left (was worse since i had the poly bushes fitted)
had all 4 replaced with Vredesteins Sessantas/Vorti non run-flats and tracking all corrected etc and cant believe the difference, i cant feel each stone i drive over now :rofl: and it feel so much more planted to road :driving:


just wondered as I no longer have run-flats what do people have in there car in case of puncture? I'm guessing there's some kind of non run-flat pack (mini compressor/puncture gunk stuff??)
i dont wanna just go on ebay and buy a random kit, wondered if there was a forum favorite?
 
I had the Eagle F1s fitted a few weeks back, and now carry a decent puncture repair kit, scissor jack, wheelnut brace and mini compressor in the boot. I wouldn't even consider using that gunk stuff unless there was absolutely no other choice.

Puncture kit I use is this - best one out there - and being a biker and having to carried (and used) other makes can categorically say it's an excelent bit o' kit which really works. I've used it twice now on the wife's car.

Result :thumbsup: , always great when the car handles so well, personally i prefer doing one mod at a time to better gauge the results
 
I carry a slime kit with compressor in the boot. Have a look on Amazon/Ebay you can pick one up for around £20/£25
 
Just moved off my winters and onto a new set of Goodyear f1s and had the tracking done. It makes you fall in love with the car all over again when it's setup right :thumbsup:
 
does the gunk stuff ruin your rims/tyres? i heard the new stuff nowadays doesnt damage them as much as the early stuff did years ago..... or is that just a load of rubbish?

It can cause a problem with your tyres if you used an oil based solution - many preparers will not clean the tyre and rim - but OK if you use a water based solution. :thumbsup:
 
:Glad your happy mate, its always nice to feel a positive change when modding a car and non runflats is a mod that 80% of us all do :) :thumbsup:

I have one of those puncture repair kits, and have used it. It's relatively easy to use and produces an excellent repair provided the puncture is on the tread area. I also carry a pair of long-nosed pliers with the kit for the easy removal of the cause of a puncture (nail, screw etc.). :thumbsup: :driving:
