3D Printed dual bottle holder for the E89 v2

Well, more like v8 as I've iterated the design a lot since the first one.

As a reminder this is where I started:

I then did several interations of this but found that it would roll forwards with a full bottle under heavy braking. Velcro didn't work on the tight pile of the interior carpet so a complete rethink was required.

This time I came off the net holder bolts as a way of securing it down. This however meant that I needed to break the design up to be able to print it on my P1S.

I split into a pair of lowers and an upper. There are caps for the bolt holes from the net hold downs.

You'll need M4 heat-set inserts and M4x16mm cap heads to assemble.

I then removed the net holder plastics and set about bolting it up.

It's going no where now!

It's available for anyone that would like one to print yourself. Cost me around £14 in PETG-CF filament, 18hrs print time in total and £2.50 in fasteners.

Looks great! I’ve not got around to printing your last version yet as I had some trouble slicing it and fitting the thing on my print bed (200 x 200 Ender 3 Neo). I’ve been meaning to cut it in half on Tinkercad so I can print it in two pieces and then glue them together, got distracted and here we are. I’ll try it with this version maybe tonight. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Looks good - like its meant to be there, Nathan.

Why CF instead of ASA?

I've not had much success with ASA yet. I didn't want to waste it on this. Plus I've only got bright yellow ASA! I've used PETG-CF a bunch of times and it's worked well for me. I need to try more with ASA and get more comfortable with it. The room where I have my printer doesn't have great airflow, so I need to be careful when printing ASA until I can sort that out.

No worries - hopefully this one will fit for you.

I understand -- what you have is easier when working out a design.

ASA has the best UV resistance but needs to be kept dehydrated before printing for best results—carbon filters for the fumes during printing.
It's a pain, but it produces a good product. Your P1S should be able to handle it well. That TEG-CF is probably more expensive!

Sliced up nicely in Cura just now, bottom plate being in two parts is all I needed to do anyway, so you solved my issue! I just hit print on the upper part on my Ender 3 Neo; 15hrs at 0.3mm layer height and 20% infill. Also just hit go on the lower left on my Ender 5; 4hrs at 0.3mm and 20% infill. I only print in PLA, so it may fatigue over time, we shall see, nothing ventured nothing gained.

It looks like it is going to use 500g of PLA+, so that is about £5.50 to print which would be fantastic if it works!

Just one of the base plates to go now, should be complete in about 3hrs. Seems to fit perfectly from the upper and one base plate, thanks so much for your efforts and for sharing it!

It’s not my best print as the upper lifted a little at the bottom during the print. It doesn’t show though so I’m perfectly happy.

That’s a great bit of kit you’ve designed and printed Nathanio. Having owned an E89 not having a drinks holder was an issue. If i was to own an E89 again one day would this be something you could make and then sell ?

Nathanio, I have a problem with the lower left part, the holes are not aligned. Is there an error in the uploaded file, or have I messed something up?
