Had my car remapped today at BHP-UK.net

Great guys at BHP UK, they take there time to do the job right and take care with your car! They are based in Simonstone, East Lancs, but have dealers throughout the country.

As for the remap.....the car is epic :D ...what a transformation 8) .....gained an exra 56 BHP over standard on my 35i....Thanks Qal!

A place I would recommend 100%

Going to Germany soon, so looking forward to stretching the Zed's legs :driving:

... and no warranty concerns? Flattening of the remap when serviced? (This is what attracts me to the (granted double the price) ESS option which is reversible)

That is some improvement
Has the 3.5i got a turbo
Would a map work on the 23i?
Cheers

2 Turbos on the 35i, can reach 400Bhp with little effort. 350+ is more conservative and preferred by some for reliability.

A map is available for the 23i but as there are no turbos (its NA) the difference is like 10bhp, and not worth it IMHO.

How does the new map affect the power delivery? Smoother or more punchy when the turbo's do kick in?

Hi Maniac,

I have a 23is which has been mapped & I can assure you that is definitely worth it because the throttle response when remapped transforms the car especially in sport mode, much more enjoyable to drive than standard.
My car was in for its first service last Friday & they wiped my map by loading new bmw software to the ecu trying to fix the dancing windows issue.
I thought the handbrake was on when I went to pick the car up from them with the result that I had to get the mod file redone & reloaded to the car which is now back to the way it was before i.e much nicer than standard.

A 23i you mean (there is no 23is, only 'is' in the range is the 35is)... I appreciate you notice a different response, my comment was meant in comparison to the 35i here where not only does the map change the angle of attack (as it perhaps does in yours) but also increases BHP and Torque significantly because of the Turbos on the 35i/35is. Glad you posted tho as others with 23i cars will find it useful.

It's a pitty ess don't make a super charger for the 23i, that would be a proper tool
Cheers

how much did it cost and how long did it take to do?

You are better getting in touch with them as prices can vary depending on what you want done. Prices start from £299

As for time this can vary as well, if you go for a live map where they check each adjustments on the rolling road...this could take hours even a full day....they make sure they get it right!

I have no warranty concerns... this map is well with limits..still within safty limits....if map was wiped off BHP UK will put it back on.

Car pulls like a train....but still smooth. You can potter around as normal but when you step on the gas it's epic :D

Hi,

This sounds good.....I have DCT on my 35i.
Is yours a manual or auto?
Concerned about the effect of increased torque on the auto-gearbox.
