thank you :) what is the expected mileage up to first service ? I'm looking at the service option from BM, but I only do 6000 per year so I'm not sure it's worth it.
 
You need to call your dealer get the price for oil and brake fluid service (£300 at a guess) that will need doing in 2 years at 6k pa. And then ask for the cost of a service 1 and brake fluid service, this will take you to year 4 which woud be your total expected costs taking you upto the next service in 6 years.

I'm guessing there isnt a lot in it with the mileage your doing, but also depends how quick you get through pads and disks among other items, had them all replaced as they were worn out on my last E46 @ 16K all under inclusive maintenance :D

Tried that, but unless I can give them my Reg/chassis no (which I cannot) they cannot help me until I get my car, as there are no details on a first service of a 35iS yet!

Just thought a figure on a 35i would give me a clue for an S.
 
I paid around £200 and something for my first service on my last Z4 3.0si, including brake fluid change from my dealer. I was told to expect around the same price for my 35i. But. VAT has gone back up since that price!
 
At 6k a year you are going to be servicing the car every two years, as it will do 12-15k intervals (or maximum of 2 years). Maybe an annual service regardless....or drive it more! ;)

?!?!?!?!?!? Thats insane. Iv'e had two E46s and one E86 (which is basically an M3 for this discussion)...

330 - sold at 27,000. No pads or discs required
M3 - sold at 39,000. Pads at 35k, discs probably due in another 7k
Z4M - currently at 33k and the pads need doing in a few k, discs are fine

...and I don't drive slow. Not to mention I am purely talking fronts, never touched the rear discs or pads ever. Front disc life should be 35-40k minimum....25-30k minimum for pads?

First service is at 30,000km for me. says so in the onboard computer. I'm only at 3500km so got a while more to go.

Kryton, did you order an 35is ? I thought it was an s35i, very nice either way.
The new ones get serviced at long intervals, much longer than I do in a year so I book at least one oil change service, usually in the spring as the oil has been sitting all winter ( remember, I don't drive it in the snow here ) The computer usually tells you at about 25k km .

Note: Just got back from a 5500km drive to Phoenix and back. Only saw one Z4 and a mint condition Z3 on the entire trip. It seems those Americans down there are wussies (of course it was 13 degrees C and raining most of the time :lol: so I can't blame them.)
 
I had a look in the BMW magazine, and it states that pads / discs are NOT included in the inclusive maintenance costs. So only the expected parts such as oil, filters etc etc, but no wipers, brakes and other stuff.
 
£35 a year and you too could own one of those magazines a month :D

(+ it gives you 10% discount on all parts and labour)

On the iS the maintenance pack is £300, covers 5 years/60000, so I should get my second service in within 5 years as I cover up to 6000 miles per year. :driving:
 
Agreed. On the M, it is £1000 so unless you drive a lot - it is not worth while.
 
I went through the same process recent with my 35i and a local dealer kindly supplied typical prices for common services.

  • Oil Service would cost £181.36
    Brake Fluid Service £49.94
    Spark Plug Service £178.60
    Front Brakes Service £179.73 (pads)
    Rear Brake Service £213.53 (pads)
    Micro Filter Service £45.61
