Manual box also appealing especially coming straight from Mroady .
I think as time passes the price difference between the 2 will diminish ( to some extent it already has :o ) as they start hitting 8 - 9 - 10 yrs old then condition , history + miles will prove a bigger deciding factor for many buyers .

What is your budget?

Was around £15k but would have gone up to £17500 if necessary ( for sub 60k car either 35i or Is )
I certainly wouldn't feel comfortable with big numbers ( over £25k ) invested in one right now as they appear to be dropping quite noticeably now whereas the last 2 -3 years the twinnies have stood well in comparison to the rest of the E89s
