Put my c110 scanner on newly purchased 35iand got no faults. Went for a run just to check engine getting up to temperature showed 96C believe that's ok but also came up with coolant temperature engine 33C. Didn't use to get that on my e46 330ci. Is that ok see photo

To me it looks as though the radiator temp is high and the engine temp is really low, possibly faulty sender, what age and mileage is your 35i?

It's a dec 2009 with 72k miles. Car has been idling for a bit after a run think it was about 90 just after stopping
Will have a look on RealOEM for engine temp sender and ask indie garage I use about replacing it. Car has BMW warranty on it but hopefully under £250 excess. Thanks
Just a thought could it have a second thermostat that has failed and is open. My 325d had 2 but that showed s low coolant temp before both were replaced Could it be that sensor is ok but other thermostat failed if there is one
