Thanks for the replies much appreciated :)

A Ronk says as the Zed is on BMW Select then any mods would need to be reversible come trade in time, hence the thought of the 326Ms with runflats as it won't be problem then. I could go aftermarket but would prefer to stick with OEMs.

Will have to give it some thought as has been said its alot of dosh just for some wheels :|

Tim.

When I bought my car at a year old, my dealer up here gave me a copy of the full build sheet. It's a comprehensive list to say the least - every detail even down to how much fuel it was supplied with. When yours goes back they might get all ££££££'s if it's been changed from their spec - Almost like leasing a house and painting the lounge in your choice of colour!

Keep the standard wheels, fit them back when you hand the car in and flog the 326's in 2 years time?

I wished you hadn't have said that :D

There is a set on Gumtree for £1500.00 including tyres, although the advert is 13 days old...

Hi Tim,

Iv got the 18" coming on my new car and think they look fab.

Yes I dare say the 19" look better, however I even think the 17" 5 spoke on the se look great too.

To me, the 500 iv saved specking the 19" will go towards my next car.

The 18" are a tad softer, tyres cheeper and more readily available to replace. And for my particular engine, offer a better grip to power balance.

Plus they are actualy a rarer alloy.

lol, I sound like a rate' tight yorkshire man ;)

Just a thaught, coming from a completely difgerent angle, if your considering spending 2k!?

For £1500 you could trade in your car.

Get a new LCI Z4 20i M sport

500 dipper
500 ally upgrade to 19"
500 silver paint

Total£1500

£370 pm

+3 yr warranty

(Assuming no neg,eq. Even so, you would still have 500 to play with )

That sounds like a good Idea to me - There must be a catch surely?

Only a potential pit fall of loads of negative equity to pay off, in which case thats the idea out the window.

Other than that im struggling, its worth a shot though don't you think? Can always ask the question :?

I bought my car and it's mine - but if I had one on one of these deals I don't think I could feel that sort of infinity that many of us build up.

So I think a trade in wouldn't feel like loosing an old pal, just changing it with lower numbers going out each month and a new car!

Cheers Atom, a little early to change yet as only 16 months in and had the Zed over 4 years although I'm looking to change at 3 years depending on what BMW offer. Still haven't decided whether to stay with BMW but contenders are,

M135i
Golf GTI with performance pack.
Audi A3 2.0 S-Line Quattro
Zed (Maybe 35i) but not keen on a secondhand one.

I think I've ruled out another E89 with the N20 engine as its a bit of a pants engine, pretty dissapointed with it, I just don't think it mates well with the Zed

Its never too early to change ;) my current car, 13 plate TT, iv had barely 6 months and changing.

Its a terrible habit and I cant seem to see a pcp through to the end. I dont see the point, especially if you're, as you are not happy with the car.

You never have any equity in a pcp (or barely depending on your deposit) so changing after 6 months or 3 years, whats the difference?!

Especially in my instance where cost to change was £500, out of one car and into the other.

If your not happy with the engine, wheels are certainly not going to help. So to answer your original question, keep your money in your pocket and the 18" on the car until it is time to change.

:)
