326Ms biting the bullet

One thing I really regret was never speccing the 326Ms when ordering the Zed :headbang:

I'm considering now just biting the bullet and getting a set whilst the Zed is stored over winter and getting the tyres next spring so it won't be one expensive hit :| Alloy Wheels Direct are doing a set for £2024, the dealer may be slightly cheaper :)

What I can't decide is whether its really worth the expense, 3K at the end of the day, I like the 325Ms currently on the Zed but everytime I look at her I say to myself its sitting on casters  and when I look at other E89s with 326Ms I drool and wished I had them fitted :headbang:

Maybe I should start a poll :)

It is an awful lot of money, especially when in a couple of years you'll presumably hand back the car?

That is one thing to consider to be honest, potentially 2015 although the PCP runs until 2016 but depends what the dealer can do me on a M135i once I've done 3 years on the Zed, but then I could flog the 18s to offset some of the cost and enjoy the new alloys for another couple of years :?

Wouldn't waste your cash Tim , they look ok to me & sometimes it can be the way the car is pictured 8)

Agree they look good but I feel much better if they were 19s, but yes alot cash for an inch

Tim is that £2k plus the tyres? These do crack too, no way would I pay £500 a piece :scratchhead:

I like the 18s :)

Yes 2K for the alloys and around 900 for the tyres, it was £500 to upgrade from the 325s to the 326s when speccing the car :headbang:

Ouch. You could get some nice forged wheels for that.

If you got your 18s powder coated in a darker colour it would make them stand out a bit less?

Tim just a quick suggestion mate, if youre not bothered about having brand new wheels, theres some single wheels for sale on ebay, so might be a cheaper option to buy one wheel at a time to reduce the cost? Just a thought... :D

Tim, If I was getting new wheels I'd go for something different in 19's, nearly everyone has the 326M's!!

And they will want the car back in the spec "as supplied" - It might be a good idea to check the terms and conditions Tim.

Thanks for the replies much appreciated :)

A Ronk says as the Zed is on BMW Select then any mods would need to be reversible come trade in time, hence the thought of the 326Ms with runflats as it won't be problem then. I could go aftermarket but would prefer to stick with OEMs.

Will have to give it some thought as has been said its alot of dosh just for some wheels :|

There is a set on Gumtree for £1500.00 including tyres, although the advert is 13 days old...

When I bought my car at a year old, my dealer up here gave me a copy of the full build sheet. It's a comprehensive list to say the least - every detail even down to how much fuel it was supplied with. When yours goes back they might get all ££££££'s if it's been changed from their spec - Almost like leasing a house and painting the lounge in your choice of colour!

Keep the standard wheels, fit them back when you hand the car in and flog the 326's in 2 years time?
